In this case, a patient suffering from Parkinson's disease was nearly 200 kilometers away at Zhangjiakou First Hospital. Experts performed deep brain stimulation (DBS) with the help of the 5G-powered Remebot medical robot. Images from the Zhangjiakou operating room were sent to Beijing Tiantan's 5G remote command center in real time, where experts could control the operation and observe the patient's vital signs. The emergence of such 5G and surgical robotic technologies could prove timely should the need for long-distance care arise during the upcoming Winter Olympics. Impossible in most of the west. Even with full fibre, the signals are often unstable. You could have 900mbps, and suddenly, the screen says, "Buffering...".

There will be other benefits. Imagine a situation where there has been a disaster somewhere and multiple doctors with robots that can be flown in quickly can perform multiple surgeries on those that need operations.
