News Corp columnist David Penberthy says the ABC's plan to relocate about 300 of its news staff from its inner-city headquarters to Parramatta is "long overdue".
"So much of the sort of personality, of the organisation, like any company, emanates from head office ... there is something sort of unique about the vibe there in Ultimo," Mr Penberthy told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
"It's basically a sort of hall of mirrors that extends all the way from Glebe to Annandale to Newtown and back, and this is no way to run a national organisation."
