'There were a lot of moving parts': McCormack jumps to Morrison's defence
Former deputy prime minister Michael McCormack has defended former prime minister Scott Morrison's decision to secretly swear himself into five ministerial portfolios without the knowledge of the public or colleagues. 'I appreciate he's apologised for that today in a long Facebook post, I appreciate that he said things happened that perhaps in the cold light of day should not have happened,' Mr McCormack told Sky News Australia. 'But at the time there were a lot of moving parts.' Mr McCormack reiterated that the pandemic period was an 'extraordinary time'.
