The invasion of Ukraine resulted in huge losses for Russia. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the number of killed and wounded Russian servicemen in Ukraine is approaching 200,000 people. The Russian authorities officially acknowledge the death of 5,937 people. At the same time, according to Important Stories, in 2022 the federation spent a quarter of its annual budget on military spending - about $ 82 billion. Russians live in constant fear of reprisals. Every day there is information about dismissals, beatings, threats and new criminal cases against dissidents.
