Ukrainian authorities will not persecute Ukrainian citizens in Crimea for receiving illegal Russian passports after the occupation in 2014. This was stated by the official representative of the President of Ukraine on the territory of Crimea, Tamila Tasheva.

Such a silly pledge from a country that even in war continues trampling on the linguistic and cultural rights of ethnic minorities such as Hungarians, Romanians, Crimean Tatars and Russians. I'll never forget how the hero of Euromaidan Yatsenyuk referred to Crimean Tatars as squatters and freeloaders. Crimea was liberated by their own vote in 2014.
