Of course my empathy lies with Ukraine the soldiers defending and dying for their country, the citizens killed and displaced and living in fear. However, for every brutal russian soldier commiting atrocities there will be another serving against his will. One of these callers said "Putin's bullsh#t". Not all of the soldiers will be pro-Putin or war. They are forced to go and now with the change in law this week there is no escape. Before Russians had to be served conscription papers at their home address so those unwilling to serve left home to avoid it. Now, they're recruited as soon as they appear on the digital database. If you don't comply they freeze bank accounts assets, stop you leaving the country, risk jail. I'm sure their families would be threatened too. The Russians who keep Putin in power are complicit to it all.
