If a tenant is under a lease, pays one months rent, then stops paying the rent, they are not considered squatters. The property owner still has to go through the long expensive eviction process.

Thanks for doing this for our next generations and generations. I am puzzled when there is a survey asking parents “how do you like no phones during classes?” Some parents says it is like in a jail. They really don’t know what jail is look like. Every morning I saw kids walking while watching phones. Don’t pay attention on the traffic. My middle schooler told me during lunch, not a lot of kids chatting but they are watching the phones. One day in a restaurant, a parent and a kid, from sitting down to leaving, they never said a single word, only watch phones. What a pity. These are jails. By the way, if you have emergency, which won’t happen every day, school has phones, you can definitely reach your parents. Also some special needs kids, they definitely need case by case rules. I totally understand. But normal kids, they really don’t need phones at school. School is the place you enjoy with your classmates and teachers and never stop challenging your potentials.

My state has it different. To claim squatters rights you have to show proof of paying the property taxes for a year. And you can't stay on the property while waiting for your court case. So its very rare someone claims squatters rights here.
