$90K for washers. Oh, wait! They're for a jet turbine. Question: what operational temperature range are they required to withstand? Could it be 250 °C (482 °F) and down to –21 °C (–5.8 °F)? And does the cost include the battery of mil-spec testing to certify those bushings? Are these prototype parts that require design validation? C'mon people, these are are not a bag of washers from the local hardware store. I'm not saying that somebody didn't pull a fast one, but as a *Commercial* R&D product designer, I've seen quotes for some seemingly simple parts that cost way more than you'd think possible. Like my $10 per piece LEDs. Purchasing saw the same part number listed online for $25 per 100 and gave himself a pat on the back for the cost reduction. The product started failing final test 100%. What happened? We were paying the LED manufacturer $10 per LED to deliver LEDs that produced a very narrow spectrum of a very specific wavelength. This was impossible to manufacture every LED to that spec, so they inspected 1000s of LEDs and selected the ones that met our spec. They sold the rest of the batch for $25 per hundred pieces. Do you understand why we could achieve a 100% failure rate?
@finssux Says:
Tell me you don’t what bushing are without telling me Jesse watters.

You have got to be kidding me!!! That bag should be $10 tops! No freaking way!! And they can't keep helping poor people with $30 for internet/phones! Not to mention the $95 Billion they just signed to send in foreign aid! This stuff is sickening! 🤬🤬🤬

The funniest ever, has to be the Army in Afghanistan, paying $2.4 million, for 'Firewood' for their 'Interpreters'!That was found-out by Trey Gowdy, quizzing a Top, 3-star General when he was in Congress!
@ct000374910 Says:
If there was more competition for contracts, I suspect that the costs associated would decrease. As it is, there's only enough room in the market for a limited number of these companies to survive, so those few can pretty much charge whatever they want. After all, where else are you going to buy a brand-new F-35?
@dionmorgan7338 Says:
Sounds like South African electricity supplier paying R80,000 for a set of knee pads. ( 4,200 USD $)

80% of that money is laundered back to the democrats by the billions. In the 1980s the Republicans were getting hundreds of thousands doing the same thing. Many top democrats are building multi million dollar homes in Ukraine right now.

Because if they don’t spend the money they have, they won’t get it the next year! I worked at the local VA Hospital here from the private sector and I could not believe the waste!! It’s a nightmare!!
