The US has made it clear all along. Its strategic military policy towards Israel is like what President Biden says "devoted to the defence" of Israel".
The US will not want to be complicit to any Israeli military aggression in the West Bank or Gaza, that is not aligned with its defence policy.
PM Netanyahu and previous government has problems reigning in the Israeli terrorists/extremists violence in the West Bank.
Or Smotrich or Ben Gvir etc ultra- Orthodox (Mk Gotliv) or Zionist expansionist ambition to "bloom" or to settle in Gaza or continuing illegal settlement in the West Bank.
So like US alliance with any other of its allies, it has always been a defensive posture. Even NATO is a defensive and not an offensive alliance.
So to say US is "giving" on the one hand and "slapping" on the other hand. Is a gross misinterpretation of US goodwill intention.
Rather due to the latest salvo of attacks by Iran, the US saw the need to expedite its US28 billion dollars aid to Israel. But not without any safeguards or guardrails in place that would threaten its own interests and welfare.
Israel really need to see things with a balance mindset.
Also, the government need to really rein in on its own extremists elements. Israel kept saying no terrorist government in Palestine. Yet, having Ben-Gvir, Smotrich and other extremist elements within its government has been a bane rather than a blessing to Israel, in terms of security. From an outsider look, Ben Gvir seems to use Israelis security force for his own personal ambition and vendetta. And Smotrich with his Finance Minister and defence portfolio does the same thing.
Any office holder must first and foremost put the welfare and the interest of the country (e.g. Israel) first. Not just his "constituency".
Having said that, trying to bring down PM Netanyahu is self-defeating. As he is an invaluable asset in times of war. And contrary to public innuendos, he is a true patriot. As i said previously, one can see him as steadfast or stubborn.
In a nutshell, before trying to change the US, let the war cabinet and the unity government resolve its internal inadequacies that lead to the US, once again being push to the wall... and seeing imposing the sanction on a specific group as the only option.
Clarify and demonstrate to the US what is a more excellent and effective alternative than the sanction. Rather than crying and howling, and trying to push your benefactor away from you again. Haiz...
This seems like lecturing 😅.... i am just sharing my thots.
Again an attitude of gratitude is important for the soul, spirit and mind.
