Australia is overpriced and agree a mega ponzi scheme. The bubble is brewing, and most people assume the highest price sold for a property applies to all properties in the area. It's this thinking plus real estate agents encouraging such thoughts that drive the prices. Supply and demand, fair enough, but the psychology of people has been so engrained with the highest price thinking it's quite sick. Australia, the bubble is here, the corrupt money is escaping here and add over immigration.....

Gawd, could these deflections become any more increasingly pathetic? It's IMMIGRATION, NEGATIVE GEARING, CAP GAINS, FOREIGN OWNERSHIP, AND ALLOWING BLOATED INDIVIDUAL RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS! Deal with them or shut the 🤬 up.

Luckily , the explosion in housing prices was not caused by excessive Chinese buying or else conservative media would scapegoat the Chinese again. The majority of the overseas buying are by European. The lack of Chinese buying means that there are few rental units out there. Chinese buying are usually for rental as they don’t live here. You can blame the lack of available rental homes on the scarcity of chinese investments. Nobody tells you the downside of things. Conservative media only tells you negative things about China all the time. Most Australians buy houses to live in.

The problem with the skill shortage argument is that politicians only ever talk about immigration as the solution, although it adds to the pressure of housing, infrastructure and services. Everyone forgets about the ten of thousands of high schools and university students who graduate every year. The simplest solution is to stop funding university degrees that wont leas to any jobs, and start pushing students back towards trades and tech jobs.

There’s 900,000 on jobseeker at the moment. It went up 16,000 just last month. I wonder if it has anything to do with all these new immigrants

But it is good for the unions and that is what matters to the Albanese government. When he leaves office he wants the unions to be as powerful as the government.

Make people desperate enough they'll vote for anything you give them even if it's against everything they believe

I believe that is their plan. They tried to restrict our freedom and have to "pay the rent" to indigenous people who wanted a trillion dollar pay out with the Uluru statement and actively lied about it. Record immigration is driving the housing situation into oblivion and spurring inflation which will lead to interest rate rises that will then in turn destroy mortgage holders. Taxes increases that only exacerbate cash flow issues. Stupid energy policy that has driven up costs all round. Homeless, broke and powerless, that is Labors plan.

Building 1.5 million homes in 5 years is a sick disingenuous joke. Wont happen. Not even close. Easiest and most obvious solution is to cut immigration by 75% tomorrow.
