As a person that grew up in the 60's in a rural area, I don't disagree that dangerous animals need to be put down. We have had to protect our livestock from wild dog packs that killed our cattle just to be killing BUT as a dog and animal lover who owns 2 dogs (and have owned many dogs and other animals) that are loved and treated as family members I must say that I'm skeptical about her story that the dog was dangerous and needed shooting. Even though I wasn't there to witness anything something about this smells fishy. Unfortunately I think she just hated the dog because it was not trainable as a hunting dog (in my opinion.) I also heard she killed a goat. I've owned many goats and yes they'll butt you but they're really not dangerous. If you grow up around livestock you need to know how to respect them and understand their ways. You can't just shoot everything because it doesn't behave like you think it should. Like I said, I wasn't there but my gut feeling is I don't think she's the right person for VP.

She clearly never heard of rescue, retraining, 'doggy rehab'....Killing a young animal that was not fully mature, poorly or, incompletely trained, and had not settled into acceptable hunting behavior is disgusting.
