I'm an independent who knows and talks with plenty of GOP & Dems. The common dumb thing I hear here, about almost everything is, "It's the democrats!" However, in my one on one discussions with G's and D's, we talk issues and I rarely hear, "It's the GOP!" or "It's the Dems!". My guess is, y'all are trying to impress each other or show how (whatever party) you are. That's common cult behavior, not surprising since the two major parties are political cults. Until people are willing to judge their party by their actions, good or bad, they are cult followers, i.e., my party (or country) no matter what.
