They destroy the ecosystem while being built and manufactured, are a blight on the landscape, are costly to build, operate and maintain, have a short lifespan and pollute the environment when they die, while producing some of the most expensive and undependable electricity available and a built-in demand for a backup system to handle the intermittent flow.
However, although nuclear is more reliable as long as there are no accidents or military or terrorist attacks (I wouldn't want to live next to one!), it will still be very expensive to build and operate and will be 15 years away at best... What do your people do till then? Nuclear is the only source however that produces toxic, radioactive waste that never goes away and always accumulates more and more of! You have the best of all worlds with cheap and plentiful coal, because with FF powered generation you have easily scalable, cheap and easily constructed facilities that allow a distributed system, for greater safety, security and dependability while producing the cheapest power possible to the consuming public and make everyone richer, not just the Industrial Elite.
