If Macron has balls, he would be leading the way in rejecting US’ overbearing and domineering attitude and policies towards Europe and France in particular. Europe and France have no sovereignty at the moment.
The fact that Macron invited Von der Leyen to the meeting with Xi clearly shows that Macron is still under the thumb of the US. As we all know, von der Leyen is nothing but a gofer girl for Washington.
I think the purpose of Xi’s visit is to leave a door open for Macron in the event he decides to bail from the dictate of Washington. China plays the long game. And indeed, if any country in Europe is going to bolt against Washington, the likely candidate would be France.
Xi’s visit to France will unnerve the psychopaths in Washington and Brussel. It’s a brilliant chess move by Xi in more ways than one.

Reality is the Europeans are not producing the most innovative or value driven products for consumers. I hope France is a true sovereign state and President Macron is truly working for the benefits of France and the French people. In this sense, together with President Xi Jinping he will bring long term success and development for both China and France. On the other hand, if France is a vessel state of the imperial empire led by America, and Macron is taking instructions from the Washington regime, then President Xi's visit is a waste of his time. The reason being the Washington regime would not allow France (and Europe, for that matter) be develop mutually respectful and beneficial relations with China.
