Sanction more Russia.

When the West gets serious about reducing carbon emissions, nuclear is the obvious path. But our public school teachers believe in a "transition" to wind and solar. It's not their fault, they don't know math either, a special teaching certificate is required.

Very good news, thank you very much❣️ 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Shame on the EU for doing ANY business with Russia!

Good news

This would definitely be an investment, but it is possible to breed Plutonium-239 nuclear fuel for reactors from standard Uranium-238 using something called a breeder reactor. Thorium, a by-product of the mining of rare earth metals we need for electronics, can also be used in a breeder reactor to create Uranium-233 which can be used as a nuclear fuel. With some ingenuity, cooperation, and investment we can easily divest from Kazakh uranium.
@Chulitatr Says:
They better pay the miners $200 per hour to mine uranium.

There are no fusion reactors anywhere in the world that produce power certainly not in Ukraine!!

The US can pay France to reprocess its stored used fuel. We do not need a new US investment to produce HEU!!

As an American I have always believed this is the way to go. Actually. the US stopped processing and reprocessing (especially the later) nuclear fuel because of nuclear proliferation concerns. This was done by Jimmy Carterr in the 1970s. Actually, for most materials the US has its own, or very nearby, friendly, sources. Look at what has happened with oil and natural gas. Rare earths, lithium, etc. are also available in the US. In fact, materials like rare earths aren't rare and were processed here very early. The thing it is a very "dirty" process to refine them. What has happened to both the US and Europe is that the processing of a lot of these materials was moved out of the countries to places like Russia and China for cost reasons. Those costs were driven by environmental regulation. What ended up happening is that the west has just exported its pollution. This is a travesty! There should be environmental tariffs on those countries like Russia and China reflecting this.

There is plenty of uranium in Colorado and Utah.

What other friendly and greatful country has large deposits of uranium *and* titanium and I'm sure would be willing to share with it's friends. Name of the country is U something Uknow, Uremember, no........ silly me, it's *Ukraine.* 🤦‍♂️ Along with that plus gas it will be able to supply a lot of Europe's energy needs and their customers won't need to be concerned about the supply being used as an economic weapon against them.
@Justfactsi812 Says:
Uranium can be recycled a number of times . It significantly reduces the help life . Infact once fully consumed throu recycling it's half is only 500 years instead of 10,000 + years . That makes storage and disposal much safer and less costly . Do the research and the right thing.
@fdk7014 Says:
Build a couple of fast breeder reactors and you won't have a shortage again
@anthonyhulse1248 Says:
lots of uranium in Canada, and Ukraine.
@garydmercer Says:
We only bought uranium from Russia as it was cheaper for the U.S. to do it. We can shift to domestic production without too much of an issue. We have plenty of uranium in the U.S. I think it would be wiser to invest into more geothermal energy production, wind and solar farms with battery storage for providing energy when the sun is down. Cheaper in the long term and much safer.

When Putin realises that he made a mistake in attacking Ukraine … it will still be “too late” Putin like trump and a couple other national leaders are only interested in their own fame and power. That’s what Dictators are and do! Personal interest.
@anotherelvis Says:
The West has enough Uranium. The problem is that we do not have enough Uranium Enrichment plants.
@user-fi6xy1ji8l Says:
Canada has Uranium Fuel buy from us too :(
@chillxxx241 Says:
The US doesn’t buy rum from Russia because it has to buy it. They buy it to keep it away from other countries.

Dear world. Get your aluminum from Iceland. New facilities, cheap abundant thermal and hydro power. The Vikings got what you need bro.
@ZDriver1996 Says:
This is 1 of the reasons why I invest heavily in US / Western Uranium production. If we stop buying from Kazataprom (refined in Russia) Western Uranium stocks sky rocket. Also I don't invest in russian orc economy.. I feel bad for the Kazakhs that have to process uranium through russian refining facilities.

I think that Macron is more astute than he was with Putin at the start of this war - fully aware of the Russian and Chinese playbook. Xi must think Europe is Naive or has become soft and unprepared for its own defence.
