Consistently buying cheap goods from China has weakened the UK that has in effect given its own businesses away for a quick buck by importing and allowing imports from China without putting sufficient taxes on these good to protect UK business. This has resulted in UK businesses closing. This has also happened with the EU.
Now we have very little industry of our own and we have emboldened China and others to start controlling what we do .
The cure is to stop buying from the Countries and put import tariffs on them to ensure Uk businesses can compete. This has over successive governments been allowed lapse.
Follow the money and you can see who has won government contracts etc and who allowed it.
The people can control this but it will mean a painful period of only buying true British and waiting for true UK businesses to start back up.
Stop playing into the hands of foreign players who do not have our interests at heart.

There's a simple solution to being hacked as I as a Brit have always advocated. Simply take everything off the intranet and Internet, go back to hand written and typed documents and secure them under guard and there'll be no more. They did it in both WWI and WWII and yes, there was a few baddies taking pictures and passing info to the enemy, but nothing like this era we live in whereby the Chinese and Russians can sit behind a desk and pilfer. The UK government must be absolutely stupid to allow sensitive and highly classified documents to be lifted at the enemies leisure. I don't want to hear, 'ah, well it would take so long to change back', rubbish, stop giving tax payer's money away to Europe and illegal migrants and invest back into hand and typed documents, secure them like we do in a data centre, where I worked incidentally, no phones, scanned in by machine and pre-booked appointments only.
