people are forgetting that in the november ceasefire, it was Hamas who broke it. They have no intention of a ceasefire. They just want the fighting to stop for sometime so they can regroup, restock and attack again.
This is Ukraine all over again. Remmeber that in April of 2022, Zelensky had understood that Ukraine ain't winning. He was on the table ready to negotiate a ceasefire. But it was UK and US who pressured him to not take that deal. Had he taken that deal, he could have saved Ukraine about a million soldiers, a lot of territory, an international embarrassment and saved us a lot of money.
Similarly, hamas could have ended this a while ago. But they are getting weapons from the Ukrainian black market and all the help they can get from Biden. So why would they behave rationally (they arent rational to begin with).
And while there is some domestic politics at play, we must not forget the Bribes from Chynah
