What boggles my mind is that the same people that complain about "states rights" complain about SCOTUS making a ruling restating that right because the ruling doesn't go in their favor and make it part of the US Constitution.
The US federal government has already taken too many states' rights away as it is, and that goes against the full intentions of the US Constitution as written. The term "United States" means exactly that. Each state is supposed to have its own power and not be ruled by DC.
10th Amendment:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."!
Abortion/women's rights are not specifically enshrined in the US Constitution! The "rights" are for all US citizens and are non specific to either male or female!
"Reserved powers" refers to powers that are not specifically granted to the federal government by the Constitution. The Tenth Amendment gives these powers to the states."
