Has ANY one who has posted negative posts about the CSIRO actually READ their report, the comments indicate NOT. The CSIRO has actually UNDER estimated and has put a comprehensive , detailed report out there that you cna READ! Yet these SKY "NEWS" - er OPINIONS! would have you beleive that THEY KNOW BETTER.....REALLY? Go read the report and shut up if you haven't.

How are nuclear reactors decommissioned at their end of life ? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-kszPS380A&t=62s
@johnnykkkk Says:
20 years of renewables and Billions and Billions dollars and their still a failure. Renewables are not even green energy. If we started Nuclear 20 yrs ago we would of already be near net zero !!!

Nuclear energy to slow to implement. Hmm I think not

Costs is one hurdle to get over, and this report sounds like that is happening accurately at last. Nuclear Fear is another, and in my opinion a big one. I suspect that the public will be happy enough if the plant is well away from where they live, work & play. So there's another battle waiting around the corner, and one that Bowen will no doubt enjoy playing. I am waiting to see how Peter Dutton and his team approach this, and hopefully come out victorious. It's such a logical step for Australia.

So the CSIRO tried to gaslight Australia by doing there report on the most expensive nuclear power possible to deter the Australian people. Then within a day they "change there minds" meaning THEY got caught out. WTF is going on, no wonder why we have problems everywhere because of crap like this

they did not factor in predictions of the weather did they? my god, with the bom's record lately predicting long droughts yet we had wetest winter in a long time ruining a lot of farmers plans and costing them a possible crop they could have had if they planted before the rain, this is the craziest part of the report i have heard yet , let alone equating the life of nuclear and renewables at 30 years , so doubling the average age of solar/wind and less than halving the age of nuclear taking any serious math out of the equation so to speak and adding the spectre of fruad to estimates of anything this model would spit out as data, i am more disappointed at the decline in the honesty of good science and logical decision making than i am mad at the ideology behind the madness

Despite gen cost, the fact is that wholesale cost of elec in sa is 10c average. Retail is 45c a kwh. So distribution is the major cost, besides retail markup. Wind and solar are going to add tremendous distribution costs. By the way in Manitoba Canada gen cost is 10c a kwh too. Retail? About 16c. Who is looking after who

Nuclear technology is old and out of date. CSIRO should be researching into new technologies. Technology that involves zero emissions, zero waste, and sustainable energy. Fusion technology such as Tokamaks fusion energy currently been built if 5 countries around the world…… hydrogen fusion energy in a magnetic field.

We the people what it so let's build a and stop these barstards that what to stop It let's have a vote let us decide

Using the reputation of CSIRO to push an agenda. This is what climate change zealots do. In the following ABC article, notice how the CEO Douglas Hilton doesn't actually address the concerns raised i.e. that the GenCost report doesn't include all costs related to renewables, but instead calls criticism 'unfounded' - which is clearly untrue. CSIRO reports can be trusted by everyone but only if the content can be questioned. They're not infallible, despite what they think of themselves. "...When asked about the CSIRO's report earlier this week, Mr Dutton said it was "discredited". "It's not relied on. It's not a genuine piece of work. It doesn't take into account some of the transmission costs, the costs around subsidies for the renewables," he said. Pressed on whether he was suggesting the CSIRO could not be relied on, he responded: "I think that's been well documented." CSIRO chief executive Douglas Hilton has hit back, defending the institution in a rare intervention into political debate. "I will staunchly defend our scientists and our organisation against unfounded criticism," he said in a statement on Friday. While Mr Dutton was not named, Dr Hilton's remarks directly refute his suggestion the CSIRO and its research were unreliable. "The GenCost report can be trusted by all our elected representatives, irrespective of whether they are advocating for electricity generation by renewables, coal, gas or nuclear energy," he said. "No matter the challenge we are tackling, CSIRO's scientists and engineers can be relied on by the community to work creatively, assiduously and with integrity.""

Any nukes here would take at least 10 years before any groundwork started. 5 billion is for preliminary licenses location study's and management studies not to mention we do not have the expertise in au to attempt such enterprises. There is no known figures of final outcome figures. A whole fleet of reactors would be needed. And where is this money going to come from.

Its not much considering what some race cost working Australia
@prescientselector3784 Says:
This is such crap. Australia has 30% of the world’s uranium deposits. With nuclear, we would be energy independent for hundreds of years - that is NOT DEPENDENT on other countries and their whims or wars.
@trickyboy1517 Says:
Yeah, they should shut down all scientific research huh, Aiden. BTW how much of a kick back do you stand to gain if or when Benito build this expensive reactors? Do you get more from the private energy companies charging customers 8 times more for energy? :I

CSIRO come up with the reports the gubbermint tells them to. Otherwise their funding gets cut. "Trust the science" 😆😆
@meredithisme3752 Says:
The CSIRO has no credibility it's just an activist mob
@tigerbugs9867 Says:
We all know Dutton's nuclear plan was a non-starter and simply a token offering to the climate-deniers in the LNP. The sooner he puts a fork in it the better.
@Jason_g_kennedy Says:
Funny they came up with apparently Nuclear would be double of renewable energy. But we still don't know the cost of renewable energy as it keeps going up.
@awc900 Says:
CSIRO is about as credible as the ABC nowadays and Gencost reports still need to be taken with a large grain of salt.
