Victoria has reported 5,874 new local COVID infections and 15 deaths in the latest recording period.
Of these, 2,086 cases were detected through PCR tests and 3,788 infections through rapid antigen tests.
There are 281 people are in hospital with the virus and 43 in intensive care.
There are more than 40,000 active cases in the state.
