Sky News host Chris Smith says Queensland Premier Anastacia Palaszczuk has described the heavy rainfall in the state's southeast as like an 'unpredictable cyclone'.
State and independent schools are due to close in the affected areas on Monday and residents have been urged to work from home as heavy rainfall and flash flooding continue.
