Ursula von der Leyden is working to undermine the EU with these interim tariffs and is bad for continued good trade relations with China. China needs to respond with tariffs of her own and should make sure these countermeasures will hurt the EU. That is the only thing that Europeans understand.

No Tariffs on the Chinese EVs can save the European Car market, the simple fact that the cars are produced cheaply will outweigh the increase. A BYD EV at $10k would be $20k at a 100% increase, still cheaper than the ones produced in the EU. The Functions in the Chinese Cars are more than the ones in European cars. The people knows the difference and they cannot be fooled.

Here in US, we have NONE China EV not because we don't want but because China doesn't care to bring EV to US market (at least not yet). So, BYD has EV models available in Mexico, but none make for US.
IOW, China EV might hit US market in the future, but right now, China is trying to help the Latin America with adorable EVs and hybrid. While Americans can only wish to have what others have.

For every car a consumer buys in Europe, the same amount of money will get the Chinese consumer two cars.
