What about the health and safety issue. EV drivers need to take responsibility for unsafe actions. There are ample public charging stations that can provide a safe secure charging environment.

I agree with the fines, if an elderly person trips over a cord they could hit their heads and get seriously hurt. If you are unable to charge on your property and have to charge on the road then the cable should have to be underneath the footpath but councils should help owners do this seeing as it’s council property. Perhaps councils could”d install a lift able plate so the owner can put a cable underneath it but it owner should bear some cost of this.

The Ev charging station near me has cars parked on the side of the road charging all the cars are facing the opposite direction of the traffic so they can plug in they have to drive towards on coming traffic on the wrong side of the road to get to the charger station a petrol car driving on the wrong side against the traffic would be fined what's going on.

This is not the first in the past councils have fined others for doing the samething, Even to the point of some running extension cables from 2nd floor balcony to the tree then to the car. And so before buying a EV you would look at what is the impactions of doing that.
In other countries some have paid to get the cables cut into the footpath to get around this but that also have the problems of you can't guarantee you get that same parking spot all the time even if get some sort of approvals which I doubt they will.
So anyone without off street parking have to rely on public charge station or their workplace.

While that cable taped to the foot at this moment across the path is probably better than some just draping a cable over to the car, the thing is , for able bodied people that cable may look like no problem and it probably isn’t most of the time , but for some oldies , and people with physical challenges, blindness or impaired sight , wheelchairs, it could still pose a risk , not to mention in wet weather it could be a slip hazard opening up the council and possibly the owner to litigation if things go awry.
The other thing is , that is not a permanent certified electrical fixture , no doubt that tape won’t last , and if there is any electrical fault with that cable running across the ground , in wet weather it could be an electrocution hazard.
Having said all this, governments pushing the EV mandates and electric cars should have foreseen this problem and made available some sort of safe electric outlet available, perhaps something like the old parking meter on a pole style of thing .
Unfortunately, politicians are often not the brightness sparks off the grinding wheel, but here we are today.
And the climate crisis is just a load of BS.
