An election had to be held this year and was set for winter, the worst possible time as the NHS will be under pressure.
The problem is that Apethy will be labour's biggest ally as people are sick of both. Farage entry to reform came a bit late, as they need time to build against the established parties, but he has certainly helped to push reform up in the polls.
Reform is going to gut the Tories in this election and don't see the storm they are facing with Reform who are going to spend the next 5 years gutting Labour. I think Labour will head into a civil war shortly after winning as the Corbinistas will want on of their own and Starmer is seen as a traitor by this group much like Tony Blair
