I always have deep respect for the Fujianese, they are well know to be ever supportive of the central government since Han Dynasty, the preserver of various traditional and cultural dynastical heritages foreign from themselves and a staunch promoter of unifying various chinese ethnicities for example via Mandarin language.
This is esp. completely in contrast in comparison to the Cantonese; promoting Cantonese culture, tradition and language as the "universal" unifying element amongst the various Chinese ethnicities.
The stark contrast is vividly observable between Fujianese based vs Cantonese based biz, media and even schools in China,
but esp. those of overseas Chinese where the Chinese government has no influence over them.
Even Sun Yat Sen (a cantonese) and his Cantonese revolutionists were promoting Cantonese as national language for the Chinese despite the Chinese had been using Mandarin for centuries.
