Going after cease fire is a great start, except there is no political capital backing it. You are in the middle of an election, most likely Israel is waiting for the e real president of the United States to come to term whether Kamala or Trump. He doesn’t want to speak to a place holder president who will be replaced in a few months and doesn’t have the ability to carry out the rest of the contract or deal. So you don’t have any political power or teeth to enforce this cease fire.
