There was no need to kill the squirrel or the racoon. YES....normally an animal would be put into quarantine for 10-20 days to see if there were any signs of rabies. It's what they do when someone takes a dog, cat or horse into another country.....the animal is in quarantine to be sure there are no rabies. Once the animal is "cleared" it is returned to their owner. This is the MOST disgusting thing that has happened. News media Australia...I found it insensitive that the men were laughing about this story...Mark is a wonderful human being that has devoted his life to saving and helping animals and this act of killing his pets hurt him to the core.....he did NOT deserve this to happen to him or his wife. This is a very serious issue here in the States when the goven can overstop their bounds with no true cause and destroy someones life. There are thousands and thousands of people standing behind Mark and his family right now because we all know it was not right.

I once had a neighbor call Fish and Wildlife (a federal agency) on me because I put out 3-4 walnuts in the shell every day for the neighborhood squirrels. Four officers showed up at my door but I refused to speak to them. The neighbor tried to get "video surveillance" of my "crime" but I got up and fed the squirrels every day at 4 am, and she slept in until noon, so apparently I'm a master criminal.

First squirrels don’t get rabies and if they did they would have died within 4 weeks not 7 years. Secondly they tried to release peanut back into the wild but come back with a broken tail so couldn’t survive on his own. And the Raccoon was being treated and was close to being released back into wild.

They didn't inform the owner they put the animals down. He had to find out from other sources. They could have held the animals in observation for rabies symptoms until things got sorted. The squirrels was indoor for 7 years! It did not have rabies! And this rescue would know not to bring a racoon with rabies aligns other rescues, fred did not have rabies also! Its absurd. And they claim the squirrel bit and that's why they did this, well it was scared shitless and acted like an animal that was scared! This whole thing makes me sick
