Sky News host Sharri Markson says the continuation of Western Australia's hard border into 2022 is 'unprecedented' and an 'extraordinary situation'.
'Premier McGowan has given the clearest indication he will keep his borders closed until perhaps February next year,' Ms Markson said.
'He wants to wait until 90 per cent of the population have been vaccinated.
'He is describing his approach as an island within an island.'
