Sky News host Paul Murray says today there were some 'serious numbers' about the pain people are experiencing because of rising cost of living.
According to research by News Corp Australia, average Australians are spending 60 per cent of their incomes on the bare essentials such as food, fuel, insurance and interest repayments.
Furthermore, Australians are collectively spending $10 billion more on food and fuel than they were a year ago.
