Morrison scandal is about 'selling a book', says former deputy PM

????

Former deputy prime minister Michael McCormack has alleged much of the furore around former prime minister Scott Morrison's secret portfolios is about 'selling a book'. Mr Morrison secretly installed himself in a number of ministerial portfolios without telling colleagues or the public, throughout a period spanning from March 2020 to April 2021. The information came to light as part of a book written by two journalists from The Australian, Simon Benson and Geoff Chambers. 'A lot of this is about selling the book by Simon Benson and Geoff Chambers,' Mr McCormack said. 'We can't place an August 2022 lens over what was happening in March and May during that very critical period in 2020. 'I get that the authors want to sell their book but that's what we were confronted with at that time.'
