Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says former prime minister Scott Morrison kept his ministerial portfolios a secret because 'Cabinet wouldn't have accepted it'.
'They would have said 'you don't need these powers',' Mr Clennell told Sky News Australia.
The National Cabinet required Federal Ministers / portfolios to constitute a cabinet which allows the documents to remain secret from FOI requests. Judge Richard White of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal ruled that the national cabinet was not part of the prime minister’s formal cabinet (or a “cabinet committee”), which includes federal members of Parliament and ministers.
This meant that it was not subject to the same confidentiality rules that would normally apply.

Andrew, go find a story of something actually important and of genuine interest to the Australian public. Regardless of this issue Scott Morrison was already out of favor with the traditional conservative base as well as the left of politics.
