The fourth instalment of the Matrix series, The Matrix Resurrections, sees Hollywood heavyweight Keanu Reeves return in the role of Thomas A. Anderson.
The series depicts a future in which Earth is dominated by a race of self-aware machines which were spawned from the creation of artificial intelligence in the early 21st century.
The first movie in the series was filmed almost entirely at Sydney's Fox Studios in 1998 and was a turning point in Australia's blockbuster aspirations.
Audiences can watch The Matrix Resurrections in cinemas on Boxing Day.
