"Skilled immigration applications can take years to reach the visa issuance stage. After facing intense competition, visas are granted with a 12-month window for the first landing. The majority of highly skilled immigrants are from South Asia working in the Middle East, particularly working for world major companies in the Middle East. Due to ongoing crises like the Israel-Palestine conflict, visa holders tend to move quickly. A significant number relocated in February, and I anticipate this trend will continue in the coming months."

Labor knew this would happen, but they needed the numbers to make the GDP look good and hope they vote labor. Not a peep out of the greens for cutting down world heritage forests, Destroying animal habitats.

It should never have got to this
@christinebell37 Says:
Australians are suffering from cost of living fuelled by high interest rates and housing costs due to out of control migration, energy due to renewables and legislation, etc causing further inflation and therefore an interest rate response Highest business insolvencies in 25 years Yet universities are crying poor from any attempts to reduce migration when they are the only sector thriving while others are going bankrupt and families live in tents ? So albo and co continue to pander to universities and big business and use migration to boost Chalmers magic surplus

@PaulyDownUnder Says:
All we're importing is terrorists that cost tax payers more money than ever. Housing them at Australians expense and then paying police officers overtime to keep all these Islamists in order. Labor is such a joke, I wish there was was an election coming up were we could vote them all out, the damage they are causing is beyond belief with a lot more to come.

Labour prime minister is always terrible.

Albo is just following the orders of his Socialist Globalist masters at the United Nations. Look at what has happened to Sweden with insane immigration.

@17nicole38 Says:
What happened to all the previous yrs before Covid that migrants with skills came here! They didn’t go home during the border lockdowns so where are they all ? is this statement false?
@Leftyintollerable Says:
It's the only way labor can get their votes from. Should be zero migration from certain countries that's for sure!
@BB-pf2cs Says:
They're also cutting wages especially throughout construction.
@BB-pf2cs Says:
Everyone points the finger and calls racism at Aussies meanwhile, we're the ones bullied into submission and no voice to vote for change... It's funny when non-australians look at you as if you're the pleb...
@velvetfaerie Says:
Get him out now! Labour shortage my a$$. There is a shortage of employers paying fair wages. They're more concerned about raking back their losses due to the covid nonsense. Losses they probably had covered by insurance policies. Lower wages and higher prices!!!!!! The less discretionary spending the slower the economy!!!!!!
@user-vp6lf3qo3p Says:
He let this housing mess happen making it worse by all these migrants he allowed in. He has no answers fixing housing. Labor hasnt a clue.
@ronRogers0001 Says:
Immigration, digital ID, CBDC, Mis/Disinformation Bill and a host of other policies by this corrupt socialist government, should have all been put to the people as a multiple referendums. These imbeciles are determined to bring this country to it's knees with their communist manifesto.

@karinjohnstone1653 Says:
Does it really matter what the Labor party take to an election? They NEVER keep their word and they do EXACTLY what they planned to do all along.... which appears to be to tax and regulate every non indigenous business out of operation and when we are all broke to sell us out to the chinese. Whatever they promise prior to an election, they will do the opposite.
@johnmancini4700 Says:
Think ahead to the mess that will take decades to clean up after all the federal and state labour governments.
@alexdrake5048 Says:
ALBO IS A PARASITE
@jouebien Says:
A bit disingenuous to call the Liberal/National policy for immigration allowing lots of immigration. They were caught with there pants down illegally limiting immigration by slashing visa processing budgets. If anything we had 3 terms worth of lower immigration so the Government didn't have to deal with the pre-existing cost of housing problem or spend money on expanding infrastructure.
@jjsc4396 Says:
Classic Australianism - call a "royal" commission, "inquiry" or other dithering ineffectual nothingness to discuss planning to think about possibly closing the barn door after the horse has bolted, been hit by a train and flung into a flaming cesspool.
@qpw62043 Says:
The problem with new arrivals is the lack of focus for roles such as plumbers and electrical and builders. We dont need university graduates becoming uber delivery cyclists.
@ozzypete7225 Says:
Ultimately it's just replacement fact, not theory
@desking8065 Says:
Someone has got her facts in a tangle. They just got through saying it takes time to slow down because of already approved immigrants. Changes to immigration has been knocked back in the senate by the coalition.

Its just a race to the absolute bottom by both Labor and the Coalition. And endless cycle of watching the two parties take turns wrecking the joint - then going into opposition and vociferously blaming each other. Rinse and repeat. We need reform - fundamental root and branch. None of it is working anymore. The LGA's and State governments have absolutely failed in future planning and investment into infrastructure and running budgets on their respective levels that do not go forever more into the red. The Federal government has absolutely failed everyone - selfish and self-serving with the disgusting 'endless Immigration to prop up GDP so they can pretend they're somehow doing a good job' - which loads all the terrible consequences straight onto the State and Local governments and of course - we the people at the very bottom of the ladder get absolutely screwed six ways from Sunday. The Feds also have destroyed education and medicare. The National Curriculum that Gillard and Co introduced is an absolute disgrace, the NDIS is nothing but pure corruption in live-action viewing for us all, medicare is a disaster zone. Taxation is obscene. We pay GST on nearly everything, we get double taxed by GST and fuel excise on petrol - which then burns all of us repeatedly through the supply chain. We have eye watering amounts of income tax. Plus the literal hundreds of thousands of other taxes we're all stung with, by all 3 levels of government, every day, week, month, year, decade. Our economy has been reduced to nothing but housing and holes. 56.7% of our personal wealth as Australians is tied up in housing. That is a stat that should keep every single man and woman in this country, up at night, stressed out. We have a ponzi scheme for a housing market. We dig up our natural resources then flog them off to the lowest bidder. We do not tax them properly - we should be bloody dripping in money in this country. Yet we're trillions (TRILLIONS) in debt, have crumbling, groaning infrastructure and have been in a solid per capita recession for far longer than any politician dares to admit!!!!!!!!!!!! We don't even have a goddamn gas reserve policy on the East Coast. These grub politicians of ours are so contemptuous of us, our country, our future that they sneer at us. They have destroyed the power grids, destroyed the economy, destroyed our military. They have destroyed our culture. When was the last time you felt like a real Aussie? When was the last time you met a larrikin? She'll be right, mate? Pfft. That culture is dead and buried by an absolute tsunami of foreigners thanks to Howard, Rudd, Gillard, Abbott, Turnbull, Morrison and now Albanese. They are corrupt to the very core. And thanks to our political system, they will never be voted out of existence and they know it. They force us to comply, force us to vote, then sneer at us with first past the post and two party preferred - which ultimately, keeps them either in power, or in dominant opposition waiting to cycle back into power. THis country needs a revolution. I genuinely cannot see how its ever going to improve, let alone go back to what it once was.
@rodneyshea6816 Says:
Once again Australians are last, the posturing and virtue signalling on the world stage is more important to Labor.

@davehad-enough2369 Says:
Albanese has targets just like the brain dead Biden. Australia will be packed with non English speaking, unemployable migrants who get all the housing while Aussies live on the streets. The migrants are whatever can get on a plane, no checks and no skills. The pompous buffoon isn't listen to what Aussies want ... just listening to his bosses. Australia is in trouble and all because 32% of the voters though he would actually be better than Morrison. What fools those 32% are now seen as.
@2cents177 Says:
There are heaps gov can do on housing but did nothing. Inheritance tax, pensioner asset test.....not stupid to give away cash to boost housing prices
@westbeach8097 Says:
Its not rocket science if we dont have the housing cut immigration. Lets look after Australians already here and get them into affordable housing.
