I have a FT Job at 96k, a small business that nets me 40k, a small mortgage at 380k (Purchase price not what's left), my wife works PT at the moment as she is pregnant and we are debt free other than the house (Own all our cars, no credit cards, no business debt etc) we have some investments but week to week we literally have sweet FA to spend. We have a 2 yo that does not go to day care, so no cost there either. Wtf Australia, we don't go out, we have a coffee on a walk to the park every other day but that's it. All our money goes on food, utilities, fuel, and mortgage. 😮 ... just surving really. I work 60 hours a week to be able to do FA and we were smart with our money!!. 😢

There is no cut in consumption … we’re just consuming more interest and petrol and less of everything else which is great for the banks. What isn’t being cut is dumb Government spending which is fuelling inflation … vanity project like rail in Victoria and the NDIS. With unemployment … the biggest job growth in jobs is in the NDIS sector … drill down and see we are being run by morons trying to stay in power as their only objective.
@anitacohen8753 Says:
Too late. The romance with housing reached a crescendo under the former government who kept interest rates too low for too long. Pensioners were being deemed more by Centrelink than they received in bank interest. No wonder they lost!
@sandponics Says:
I am a retired baby boomer, and consumption is low because we have already purchased all of the junk that we can fit in the double garage and in the garden sheds.
@Alexmcg Says:
This bitch doesn’t have a clue. It’s so concerning what the outlook for the middle class looks like.
@Hangover-ry9bo Says:
She is clueless. What she knows 100%, but for political reason not said here, is that we are in a recession+ the economy deflates with lots of odd signals. The word recession would make people spend even less. People feel the inflation to what it realy is, not what figure is publicly announced, and only spend on real needs. The systemic uncertainly can't be hidden from the consumer or the mortgage holders.
@MP-ky8sr Says:
unemployment is about to rise, my company was finding it hard to find emloyees 6 months ago now they get them easily filled at lower pay rates
@MP-ky8sr Says:
you do not know what is going on in the labour market the same way you do not know what is going on with inflation, or interest rates. all you are peddling is some good story today and hiding the bad till it happens and then blame the bad on something else like war in ukraine or covid 19
@FFlores-fr2ew Says:
I love how she just said theres some people going into their savings ans otherss just making ends meet. And then smiles.

@jamesgeitz6719 Says:
This stupid bitch has no idea of what happens in the real world! Fucking clueless! The economy & population is struggling & she talks of raising interest rates again!
@austeritykills5025 Says:
Absolute nonsense. The labor market is not strong. Ask her how many of those jobs are 2nd or 3rd jobs. Ask how many full-time jobs have been lost. Ask how many of those jobs have been taken by newly landed immigrants compared to Australian citizens and you’ll force her to paint a much more honest picture of the economy.
@heathwilkie5211 Says:
The reporters are so dumb these days. Its painful.
@redacted629 Says:
But it's DEFINITELY not a depression, so double plus good. Asking th3 reserve bank about inflation and discretionary spending is like asking a drug dealer about the side effects of the drug they're dealing.
@alaska1790 Says:
While i understand what the RBA are trying to do with the cash rate, but consumers don't have control of cutting out essentials like food, rent, electricity/gass, heath expenses. These expenses have increased in cost so much.
@connorduke4619 Says:
Who could have possibly thought that Woke Socialist Net Zero hoax policies would lead to people "struggling"... surely no one?
@kerrybarnes7289 Says:
you Clown, you killed the economy by locking people up and shutting their businesses. it will never come back.
@brendanmulcahy4273 Says:
RBA on the brakes, fed/state governments on the accelerator in the great big clown car.
@BenBass00 Says:
'Youre going broke, so things are on track - you just need to lose your job'
@vichetkim5533 Says:
All the usual fluff and no substance, just like the illusion they give by getting the public to trust fiat money as it continues to lose purchasing power.
@andrewbroome7404 Says:
If immigration was net zero and rates rose 4.25% landlords wouldn't have been able to pass on the costs of their investments/ inflation would be well and truly dead
@urwatur2882 Says:
So what they are saying they haven’t milked us enough yet 🤣🤣🤣
@oliverman6168 Says:
Everyone has cut back except the govt. Taxes have become exceedingly high.
@peterburke8650 Says:
After more than a hundred years of reserve banking the inflation target was always under 1 %.now its 2 to 3.what a con...they have totally lost control of monetary policy. Going forward Australia is probably better off dumping the reserve bank.
@Martin_Priesthood Says:
The government should do the same " cut back on spending"
@blizzard5657 Says:
Mortgage holders paying off debt as quickly as possible? Because the RBA doesn't have a clue! And Charmers making really long speeches because he has no idea!
@tracy486 Says:

@AussiePom Says:
As a cleaner in public spaces the amount of bought drinks that haven't been consumed is no less with large cups of coffee and tea being the most not consumed. If you bought a cuppa coffee why would you not drink it as it's more expensive than making it at home.
@jamesaustralian9829 Says:
Oh cute, the idiots in the city with their 600k mortgages still havent worked out how to sell the house and buy a fixer upper in a regional area to be debt free. Oh well, plenty of indians coming and taking up the cheap housing you idiots are too stupid to take.
@richardspinks6736 Says:
NO POINT WHEN THE GOVERMENT IS SPENDING LIKE NO TOMORROW. ALL THAT SPENDING AFFECTS INFLATION. ALBO HAS TO GO
@skylark_yt Says:
People remain employed, but not gainfully. Thanks RBA.
@philmelb1022 Says:
They cant predict anything. I can inflation will go up.
@philmelb1022 Says:
High country debt high interest rates.
@philmelb1022 Says:
People are cutting back but spending more because of inflation wages increases rediculous housing high insurance energy and business schooling health care rents prices which is all inflatuanary.
@ketchup995 Says:
These people are so far out of touch its not funny if you lower interest rates spending will eventually increase which will lower inflation and boost your economy. They are experts of nothing
