Wow. What a bunch of pure crock. Hypocrisy galore all around. No, there is no room for countries to put pressure on other countries rather than on terrorist organizations like Hamas. Why hasn't China and all other countries focused on condemning Hamas first and foremost rather than put pressure on Israel alone? Additionally, if "other countries" could presumably pressure belligerents in respecting the rules of International Humanitarian Law, why hasn't China condemned Russia for the innumerable atrocities it has committed and keeps committing in Ukraine. The ICRC and Humanitarian Law have lost a lot of credibility thanks to the horros committed by Hamas and Russia, and if countries really took this body of law seriously, they would already have condemned both and done everything they could to stop them. Has China done anything in that driection? No, it's been supporting Russia. That says how important it really thinks Humanitarian Law is. And how much dissemination (i.e. education and training) of Humanitarian Law is being done in the Chinese Armed Forces in view of its possible attack on Taiwan? You don't teach this body of law after the shooting started. It needs to be done long before. So? Has the ICRC director asked these questions? If he hasn't, why?
