USYD is a disgrace largely run by the staff collective, just like USYD V-C Mark Scott's former gig at the ABC. When I went there recently to listen to Tony Abbot and Konstantin Kisin speak, the Marxists tried to smash down the doors to the Great Hall to get at Abbott. When that failed, they tried to drown the speakers out. Uni security refused to act because at USYD the right to protest always trumps the right to be heard, regardless of the cause or merit. So the loudest voices prevail. There is no longer free speech at USYD. These agitators lacked the guts or courage of their convictions to sign up for a free event entry ticket to challenge the speakers. They just sought to prevent them being heard. It did not work. Private security saw to that.
