Is there a lot of government ‘funding’ for coal and gas? These industries don’t seem to be in receipt of perpetual taxpayer subsidies like renewables. As coal and gas are profitable on their own, they contribute billions to state government royalties and federally via the minerals resources rent tax. Goose greens would surely be happy to individually pay extra tax to make up the difference if these industries ceased operating in Australia.
