Look, I was born in 1960. I remember them all the way through, I recall the '70s and 80's like they were yesterday.
We didn't grow up judging people by their skin. We didn't treat people differently based on the color of their skin. We were allowed to date who we wanted, were friends with who we wanted to be friend with, and we didn't give a hoot what color Rey were.
I grew up in the best of times.
I got to see with my own two eyes, in the mid sixties, white, black, and brown stand in solidarity before during and after the riots. I remember my mother watching Martin Luther King Jr during his speech, sitting down next to her and asking what it all meant. She tried to explain it as best she could to a six year old, and I actually understood most of what she was telling me. Especially the fact that it is wrong to just others because their skin color is different. I even understood, that some of the people who had been mistreated, would be angry and not like people who were white. I also knew I couldn't control any of it, but I could control what I would allow to happen around me and stand up for what I believed was right and wrong.
I don't know why it's continuing to grow, why in this day is bigger than ever. I really don't believe it's the people fighting against each other so much as it is the powers that be and the crooked media that is causing it. I was confirmed recently while having a discussion at work with a diverse group, all ages and races. Each one agreed, added their opinion about it, and we were a little surprised that we all think it's by design.
So... Perhaps is we should keep the media, politicians and those who benefit from pitting us all against each other.
Because there's big power in large numbers, it does make sense why they want us to be against each other. Both parties are doing their part too. Don't be fooled.
It will actually be a hoot when we all finally stand in solidarity against their BIG game. I want to live to see it.
