If you have a car that needs windshield wiper fluid, you fill it. But YOU NEED TO FIRST CHECK IT. If you see your brakes are failing, you take it to the shop to have them checked. We take OUR ANIMALS TO HAVE CHECK-UPs, AND THEY DON'T RUN THE COUNTRY. Why? It's the objective data from which the next steps can be made. It's a necessary step right now, something needs to be done. Is there a downside to a medical, cognitive test? Isn't it common for presidents? It isn't about Left vs. Right. It isn't about his Predecessor at this moment. It is about this President's current health status, and if it's not adequate, to follow the established procedures. A journey begins with one step. Bursts of energy and forthrightness and clarity is not good enough for a job of this magnitude. Most all jobs require more consistent presence than we've seen.
