There are very few musicals that I could watch again and enjoy...the list is pretty short: The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, Grease. The only contemporary musical that I watched in its entirety and enjoyed...La La Land.
When it was announced that the Joker sequel would be a musical...I knew immediately...this one is gonna BOMB, bigtime. For any business person to have convinced themselves that this was a good idea...only reveals the insular and myopic nature of the Hollywood beast.
