All someone has to do is google up a list of major hurricanes to make US landfall. They will be in date order, and even to someone with next to zero knowledge of trends or statistics, it will be crystal clear there is no long term trend or increase in either the frequency or severity of these hurricanes.
About the only apparent trend is their tendency to come in waves (a few years with zero, then a bad year with multiple). Just like 2024.

Helene was such a disaster and Milton came in at a cat five strength. It could have actually landed as a cat five but thank God it weakened to a cat three. Half the debris was still in piles on the ground from Helene. It is understandable that there was a lot of caution but yes, the climate always changes and man has very very little to do with it.

Predicting extreme storms is not an exact science. Many weather and other non-political sources in Florida were very concerned about the approach of this storm. The fact that they were able to proactively get ready is a good thing. The fact that it was not as destructive on the ground when it hit was also a good thing. Hopefully weather prediction will continue to improve, but I'd rather err on the side of caution than have people killed and displaced because the proper precautions have not been taken. And the climate change alarmists - my concern is with real science and not "political" science...
