This is the real misinformation. You people should be ashamed of yourselves.
@GilmerJohn Says:
Free trade is over ratted. Reasonable tariffs are "reasonable." They don't stop international trade. But they do make that trade pay a fair share of the cost of government.
That's where Trump might go to far. Tariffs should be set to raise money for the government not to protect a politically connected group (to include labor unions) from competition.
@mikelehman5449 Says:
You, sir, are a moron and a liar.
@Thatguygeorge3131 Says:
If we wanted financial advise from Australia …. lol 😂😂😂😂😂
@graemeromans9374 Says:
Does this man identify as a globalist?
Free trade built a powerful CCP and closed down our industry and manufacturing.
We don't make antibiotics. Not even penicillin
@robertmontgomery7158 Says:

@CG-vf9he Says:
We have been doing the same thing over and over! Let’s give tariffs a go!!! I believe in Trump!
@BudHenry Says:
Australia doesn’t charge the US tariffs and the US doesn’t charge Australia. We have a free trade agreement between us. Does the ausfta ring a bell? Tariffs are for the countries who charge us tariffs but get to trade freely. Quit clutching your pearls and acting like a victim.

Sand in the wheels can be a good thing.
Trains use it to increase traction up hills in wet weather.
@JudySnyder-dv5ld Says:
It's so funny how the countries that have taken advantage of the USA are now crying about tarrifs.
@waynecameron4911 Says:
Free trade is a farce, fair trade is what is truly needed. Our moronic governments going down the free trade route have destroyed industry and associated jobs in Australia
@manlydaily123 Says:
Tariffs are a tool to create free trade, wake up !!!
@124marsh Says:
Until every country supports free trade/ no tariffs, there will be tariffs.
@mcaddc Says:
Meanwhile Australia let all its manufacturing industry die as we couldn't compete with other cheap labor nations such as China. A nation by the way which has many tariffs applied on foreign goods entering the country. Looking back at how good Australia was back in the 70/80's when we had our own industries creating jobs and products for us and even the world. The politicians have sold Australia out to globalist concerns, sucking our wealth and jobs for their benefit. Tariffs are an economic balancer, to protect a nations jobs and industries from other nations who have no problem slugging even higher tariffs against US goods to protect their own interests. Free trade must be equitable, and not a disaster for national security.
@camresearch5120 Says:
United States Imports from Australia was US$15.31 Billion during 2023, according to the United Nations COMTRADE database on international trade. United States Imports from Australia - data, historical chart and statistics - was last updated on November of 2024. A 10% blanket import tariff paid for by the U.S importers is not going to reduce US inflation.
@beelikemizu604 Says:
It's called playing hardball to stop countries taking advantage of us. Then negotiations change that relationship so both benefit. This ain't his first rodeo LoL

No such thing as "free trade" when Mexico and China uses slave labour.
@NightTrekker-d1s Says:
Australia doesn’t have anything America wants or needs so too bad so sad. We are the technology hub of the world and no one else. Left wing authoritarians will be heavily tariffed, and your embassy has no place in our country.
@shannona6989 Says:
And Australia's industry sector absolutely thrived before labour pushed free trade in, gutted the industry and flooded the market with cheap crap products.
@doctormdds Says:
Free trade has to work in both directions. I don't feel Trump will place tariffs on everyone - only those who put trade restrictions of some kind to American products coming in to their country.
@mbenj2023 Says:
Sounds like a sook. We can't compete against $40 per week wages. Very simple.
@mikyjohn355 Says:
If you dont like this comment kiss my a**!
@petergoodwin2465 Says:
How about we manufacture our own goods and take our country back. We have to get rid of Labor and liberal to do it.
@willdsm08 Says:
Trump is doing what he can to bring back manufacturing, and jobs, to his country. Australia should be doing the same. Free trade is never free. One country is always trying to get the better of its trading partners. Right now, China rides roughshod over everyone it trades with. They steal intellectual property, remanufacture it, and sell it as their own. Dealing with China is a dangerous proposition, and Australia should be following the lead of the US in divesting from China.
@nocturnal6129 Says:
Hey australia...GO FUCK YOURSELF

@scottlewisparsons9551 Says:
The relationship between the United States and Australia is probably not helped by having a very lefty Labor prime minister.
@SpeedfrkOne Says:
I don’t trust anything these so-called “economists” say as its only to fatten their wallets and to make themselves and others rich and they are all corrupt and keep pushing the same b.s. for decades. This is all based of a corrupt fiat currency system which is simply designed to create debt and keep people is this financial loop. I have never wanted free trade and tariffs are one of the few protection systems that can be used to keep local / sovereign manufacturing alive. Free trade is just another load of b.s.to effectively force countries to produced goods at around the same cost, meanwhile no discounts are passed onto the consumer.
@fcapio Says:
Did you guys not listening ? He said it loud and clear “America First”. You have to deal with your own problems and stop whining…..
@ahminmabed5166 Says:
Free trade is a globalist scam. It really means deindustrialisation of Western economies
