Members of parliaments in Finland and Sweden on Monday began debating their countries' respective NATO bids, as the two neighbors prepare to submit applications this week. Finland officially announced its intention to join NATO on May 15, and Sweden's ruling party had said it backs membership, paving the way for a joint application.
