Sweden has joined neighboring Finland in applying for NATO membership. However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey "will not say yes" to Sweden and Finland's NATO membership. He also accused Sweden and Finland of failing to take a clear stance against terrorism. Turkey is the only NATO ally so far to oppose the two nations' accession.
