Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Labor love telling people what to do and "what cars to drive".
"Labor wants to tell everybody what to do," Mr Morrison said during a media conference on Tuesday.
"I think Australians have had enough of governments telling them what to do, frankly."
Mr Morrison, on Tuesday, spoke of the government's electric vehicle strategy.
"I trust Australians, that when they're presented with good options, at good prices, they'll make good choices."

The question we couldn't hear was about Toyota, the biggest and most successful car manufacturer in the world stating their position that they believe electric cars are not viable in the near to medium future. Toyota has been developing electric and hydrogen fuel cell tech for over three decades. And while they show it off in their generic advertisements for PR they believe that hybrid petrol/electric is the way for the next two to three decades.
The elephant in the room that nobody talks about is recharging. 50% of the country will not be able to recharge at home or work because they park on the street. Even if we build 20,000 rapid charge stations that take 20 minutes, if there are three cars in the queue that is an hour to recharge two or three times a week.
