India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced his ambitions to have the country meet the criteria of a developed nation within the next 25 years.
'We have to make India a developed nation in our lifetime,' Mr Modi said.
In order to be considered developed, India will need to boost its GDP and per capita income to meet those of high-grossing nations.
India is currently the sixth largest economy in the world and is expected to become third by 2050.
