Amber Heard hires new lawyers as Elaine Bredehoft steps down
Amber Heard is switching legal counsel as she prepares to appeal the verdict that found her guilty of defaming her ex-husband Johnny Depp. A representative for the Aquaman star announced on Monday Elaine Bredehoft would be replaced by lawyers David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown. The duo successfully defended the New York Times earlier this year against a defamation lawsuit brought by Sarah Palin. Ms Bredehoft said it was the "perfect time to pass the baton" and she would help the new team move forward on a "path towards success".
