Then on oct 7 23, barely a month later, Hamas and terrorists invaded Israel. Killed and kidnapped, many are vulnerables.
Then in November Hamas released over 100 hostages.
But in mid March 24, we see mass kidnapping in Nigeria.

With Israel, it is not a simple thing of paying the ransom.
Israel faced genocidal enemies that wants to annihilate it. From generations calling for the death to Jews.
It is not about Netanyahu or his unity government.
The ramifications if Israel capitulate because of hostages in Gaza is wide-ranging. It is not just about entering into Rafah. It is current future displacement of Israelis, current and future generations of trauma ridden population by the repeated terrorist acts, like kidnapping, projectiles, and killing of current and future Israelis lives. The war and humanitarian crisis in Israel and Palestine did not come about because Israel responded militarily.
It came about solely because of the barbaric and inhumane onslaught and acts of Hamas on oct 7 23, and even before that and after that.
What the terrorist organizations are doing is untenable for Israel. There will come a time where Israel Iron Dome, etc may not be able to offer that kind of defence that will prevent an amaggedon/apolcalyse kind of situation in Israel. One that would come about from the likes of Iran and its proxies throwing missiles and other projectiles over in huge quantities. With the intention of creating an "accidental massacre" if it succeed. Or if in future, it decides to hit civilian targets.
Israel must not be complacent that it will always be able to defend itself like it did recently.
While it still can, it must send a strong deterrent message. And stop emboldening the terrorists.
It is now 3 am at my end and i was just reading Exodus 7 (NKJV).
So the Lord said to Moses: “See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. 2 You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall tell Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of his land. 3 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. 4 But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. 5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.”
Here in Exodus 7, GOD is talking of rescuing His people to bring about a release. We know, from subsequent chapters, He did this after much military (plagues) and diplomatic (Moses and Aaron negotiation with Egypt Pharoah) pressure . Then still the Pharoah did not want to let GOD's people go. So GOD have to rescue and redeem His people... even splitting the sea.
Lives are important be it the hostages in Gaza or whoever else.
But one must remember and not forget, lives also include the survivors of Oct 7, the displaced, the injured, the soldiers, the children, the elderlies, etc vulnerables in Israel. If the terrorists are allowed to prevail, more lives than the hostages in Gaza will be in bondage for years and generations to come.
Think carefully about it.
Hamas is an evil, devious psychopatic terrorist organizations, and most importantly pathological liars, propagandist and manipulators. With this kidnapping will be like shoplifting if they are not deterred.
No permanent ceasefire. Only pauses for hostages release or humanitarian purposes.
