Why doesn't anyone remember it was Judge Aileen Cannon who granted Donald Trump's request to have a special counsel assigned to the documents case? Clearly at one point it seemed like a good idea and constitutionally acceptable to her to have a special counsel, but now she has basically ruled against her own previous ruling. Merrick Garland assigned Jack Smith as special counsel by order of Judge Cannon. She is incompetent and way in over her head practicing law.

All other special counsels, save Mueller, have two things in common. They were statutorily authorized, or the appointee was a serving US Attorney duly nominated and confirmed. There is one other thing that these crack heads overlook. Appointing a special counsel has ALWAYS been reserved for investigations of the CURRENT administration. Not as a ponteus pilot play to keep the AG's hands clean investigating the opposing political party.
