Israel - will take land in Lebanon. And it wont hand it back. Israel wants a buffer zone with Hezbollah. And Hezbollah wont negotiate - or agree to any negotiation terms. And that's what has happened here. Everyone is done negotiating.
Hezbollah - wants to negotiate on it's own terms. And Israel wont agree anymore. The issue was - Hamas and Hezbollah - were going to run out of luck. And they had no compromise in their thoughts or ideas.
So other people who have no skin in the game - want endless talks that go nowhere. This is not uncommon in the middle East. Look at Syria - it's a mess. Syria has fallen into the trap of everyone has decided - they want Syria - to be the land of either the Sunni or the Shia. And it's torn apart by a religious war.
Lebanon is where the Palestinians went to after they were kicked out of Israel - then Jordan - then Kuwait. Where ever the Palestinians go - sectarian war - is sure to follow.
The Palestinians - don't understand peace. The U.N. has also played a huge part in supporting the Palestinians - and keeping them poor and in poverty - despite billions of dollars of aid - poured into the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
There has to a sober assessment of the U.N.. And really any aid now - should be run by the countries - giving large amounts of money. To see that aid - goes to - building up communities - not all siphoned off to war. Because that is where all your money has gone. The people on the ground - were Arabs running U.N. projects. And they saw that Hamas has all the say of the money being distributed.
On the wider scale of things. Syria and Lebanon - have been on the edge as failed governments - as Iran moves in - with it's money - and influence.
